Biographical pieces refer to artwork I do on a commission basis. They are usually created to commemorate a special occasion, like an anniversary, wedding, birthday, housewarming, or other event. Yet they can really spring from any inspiration- people, places, even favorite poems.

I usually start with photographs, maps, letters, or other artefacts you may want to incorporate into a piece, and construct an original design to fit your personal needs. Biographical pieces can come in any size, and are one of my favorite things to work on. I usually get to hear great stories as well as see all kinds of interesting personal treasures that have been collected over the years.
